As we wait for the ultrasound next Monday, I won't have much to report. Someone wondered why I wasn't updating... gee, I guess it's because you don't really want to hear how I'm feeling quite yet. Besides, I said I wasn't going to complain on this blog, remember? This is a joyful experience - fat, tired, soreness and all!

We have a big number... 3837!! Whoohooo!! Next hurdle is Monday, August 25th at 1:45 pm CDT for a beautiful heartbeat!!

Would you believe...

that on my way to pick up the babysitter this morning, I passed a man walking along the path down the hill. I couldn't believe my eyes when I noticed the back of his bright red shirt had the words "Go Beta!" in black & yellow writing. Surely a sign for the beginning of this glorious day!

I took Henry, one of my good luck charms, with me this morning. He was dragging and sleepy, but he's getting used to me taking him downtown to the clinic. We shared in the beautiful sunrise once again over Minneapolis -- the clouds were absolutely stunning! And so I gave my arm for a poke & blood draw, and we now wait patiently for the afternoon phone call.

Beta Numbers

What a crazy thing, this process of getting pregnant via IVF!! So I had a second beta this morning and the number was 164. Monday's number was 102. Some people believe it should double in 48 hours, but I, of course, have been digging for all kinds of information and found that 60% in 2 days is just as good. This was 62% so I'm going with it. I've found evidence that says it should double in 72 hours. So we're not concerned. Our doc wants us back for another beta in a week, so it's next Wednesday morning. It's going to be ONE LONG WEEK now... so I guess our 2ww is now a 3ww!!

Today's photos I took of the Basilica of St. Mary's in Minneapolis. It's on my way to/from the clinic and I just love how it shines in the sunrise and the shadows of downtown Minneapolis. I said another prayer as I passed it and sat in traffic on my way back to work.
