Julie's OB Update
I had a visit with my OB last week and she's insistent that I not get pg again until the one year mark. So a transfer in 2008 will not be until July/August timeframe. It gives me a little more time to "whittle my middle" in the interim. Also to get everything else in place with Hanne & Tommy... who are very excited and anxious to get started! The new clinic has accepted my MMPI from the summer of 2006 and JP will take one on January 4th. Then it's on to a springtime filled with medical screenings and contracts!
Back to working from my couch today. My youngest is home sick! It's allowing me to get caught up on email though without interruption. Gotta love sitting fireside, with a hot cup of java and ratta-tap-taping away at the computer!

A new year, a new adventure!
I received a call today from our coordinator at SO and she is already talking about screening appointments in January! Wow. Hanne & Tommy will be coming to Minnesota in the next six weeks! This is the part, I can only imagine, that has to seem like years for them... yet, suddenly the time will be here to travel across the ocean for medical and psychological evaluations!
My husband, JP, cannot believe he has to take a psych exam. He did not have to do this with the last journey. I also took it on a computer that time and flew through it with speed. I believe that the one we will all take in January is on paper. The MMPI is a test, however, not one that really has a pass/fail aspect to it. No studying necessary. You're either nuts, or you're not. Ha!
I sent Hanne an email this afternoon with a bunch of questions about their itinerary, schedule, hotel, dinner, etc. I'm sure she will start feeling a bit anxious soon, if she is not already.
Just the first steps, of many!

Lawyers
I just received word that we already both have lawyers lined up and ready to represent us! It's amazing how this all comes together so nicely, especially when working with an agency who has professionals that know the in's and out's of surrogacy!
For those who do not know this part of the process, we have a contract drawn up between us so that there are no misunderstandings along the way. It lays out everything from start to finish. I do not recall even referencing my first one, however, after it was signed! As long as you're in agreement to start, it is relatively easy to navigate.
The lawyer in Minnesota also draws up the PBO (Pre-birth Order) that allows Tommy & Hanne to get their name on the birth certificate and take home their bundle of joy!

Hanne & Julie
We have already shared a few lengthy emails getting to know one another and it is so very exciting! I have given Hanne access to post in this blog as well. That will be a new experience for me and hopefully you all can follow this journey together with us!
I have added a few "education" links for those new to the idea of surrogacy as well. Please feel free to comment and say hello on occasion! Hopefully we can keep it fresh and exciting so that you'll want to check back with us.

It's Official...
We are matched!
Hei Tommy og Hanne. Jeg er slik hisset opp til å stirre denne reisen med du !
Thanks to Dana/Jaime's agency, I have found a couple from Trondheim, Norway to carry for in 2008! They are wonderful on paper and I had a PC with the IM today over my lunch hour.
Whoohoo.... medical screening, cycling and shots are on my horizon again. Surely we're all nuts for loving this part of surrogacy, right? But oh, how I cannot wait to be pregnant again and help bring another miracle into the world!!
More details in the near future. I'm on my way to a second surrogacy journey!!
